The well known and since the late eighties of the past century most popular holiday visitor in this area – the Nuremberger painter Ernst Loesch - writes about the Turmwirt in his book “Südtiroler Erinnerungen” on site 174 the following lines:

The simple farmer inn has turned into a well working hostel for those who enjoy the summer. The admirable and estimable thing was that the simple sense of the inhabitants remained the same, despite of all the inflow. There didn’t happen anything unnatural in the house, and it remained, despite all the goodness and progress of little improvements and changes, the same. There was peace and harmony here at home, and that was the reason why you felt so at ease.
